Trying to keep sunday productive

So many times we think we need a break, we think of things we would like to do; things we would like to learn... things we would just like to get rid of. Well, at this point of my life I have this time, a lot of it. Probably by organizing myself, I would have been able todo it before, but I didn't, so... now I don't have the excuse to say I don't have time. Some of this things are family history.

As members of the church we do family history. We do research of our own ancestors. This process may take time and may seen boring. However, it is pretty cool when you do find someone who is part of your family, someone who lived many years ago, even centuries, and was kind of just waiting for you to find him/her. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints provides many tools to find your own ancestors and help others find theirs.

One of those tools is called indexing. In old times, records of births, marriages, deaths and similar ones, were written down in huge books. With time, many of those books have been digitalized, now they are images that can be accessed on a computer. To further simplify the process of finding your ancestors, someone indexing will type all the information contained on some images to create databases.

So today I will be doing some indexing, and I will also look at the databases to see if I can find some of my own ancestors.
